The Case of the Eight Hypocritical ReindeerLapland, Finland December 2011 -- Bullying happens not only in schools across the country, but also with adults in the workplace, social settings, sports, and even in the home. But bullying is not limited to humans. It can take place in any group and has been witnessed in lions, elephants, monkeys, and virtually every species of animals. During this holiday season our attention has been drawn to a particularly odious example of bullying in the extreme northern part of our hemisphere. It seems that a young male reindeer named Rudy was blessed with a proboscis that seemed to glow with an iridescent light that cut through the winter fog. You would think that his fellow playmates would be glad for Rudy and support him, but instead they laughed at him and called him nasty names like “Beacon Nose” and “Lighthouse Face”, and wouldn’t allow him to participate in the annual Reindeer Games, which was the equivalent of our Olympics......click here for more on the breaking story...
